Baycrest Centre’s second annual Dogs on the Catwalk hosted by Jeanne Beker and her furry BFF Gus takes place on Oct.20 2015  at Winter Green Court.

Leading up to the event is their volunteer-run fundraiser campaign Dogs on the Catwalk competition to help raise funds for pet therapy programs for people suffering with Alzheimer and related dementias. This year’s goal is to raise $70,000 – to date over $50,000 has been raised to support Baycrest Health Sciences through an on-line  campaign. Humans create a pet profile about their four-legged companion with photos and stories to share with family and friends to help raise funds.

“Our donors make programs like this possible,” said Ian Leventhal, Baycrest Leadership Gifts Director. “With their support, we are able to bring therapy dogs to the hospital and provide comfort and stimulation to our residents. Our therapy staff have seen first-hand the benefits of this type of interaction and we are grateful to those who registered their pets and fundraised in support of this and other volunteer programs at Baycrest.”
