Best Friends Animal Society Celebrates its 25th Anniversary at the 2009 Lint Roller Party

On Saturday, Oct 3, Best Friends Animal Society will celebrate 25 years of collaborating with shelters, rescue groups, volunteers and members across the country to better the lives of animals with their 2009 Lint Roller Party. The annual event will take place at the historic Hollywood Palladium, and feature a live performance by The Bangles, dancing, open bar, live and silent auctions and a gift bag that will make both the guests and their four legged friends happy! Boasting an 80’s theme in honor of the 25th anniversary, guests of the event will party like its 1984 while they also the chance to meet the stars of National Geographic Channel’s hit series DOGTOWN!
The 2009 Lint Roller Party honorary committee chairman will be Emmy-winner Katherine Heigl, whom along with her mother Nancy will receive an award for their ongoing commitment to animal welfare through their foundation, The Jason Debus Heigl Hounds of Hope Foundation. Other honorary committee members include Ellen DeGeneres & Portia DeRossi, Charlize Theron, Denise Richards, Adrian Grenier, Mickey Rourke, Tori Spelling & Dean McDermott, Emmy Rossum, Laura Dern, Ben Harper, Lisa Edelstein and Kevin Nealon, among others.
Best Friends Animal Society works with shelters and rescue groups nationwide to bring about a time when there will be no more homeless pets. Founded in 1984, Best Friends Animal Society conducts adoption festivals, promotes low-cost spay-neuter services, and advocates on behalf of animals throughout Greater Los Angeles. Best Friends operates the country’s largest sanctuary for abused and abandoned animals, a 3,700-acre facility in southern Utah, that on any given day is home to approximately 2,000 dogs, cats, horses, rabbits, birds, and other animals.
