In my previous life as a television producer and director, I learned that vision is nothing without execution. Every successful series begins with a singular “script” – a unique insight into a problem that needs solving – followed by a laser focus that transforms an intangible idea into something that resonates with an audience.
Bringing a new product to market follows the same dramatic arc; it is the birth of an idea followed by the high-stakes execution of that vision.
For a growing number of entrepreneurs, everyday frustrations spark innovation. Shaped by collaboration and driven by experimentation, redesign, and persistence, those ideas evolve into tangible products that improve the lives of companion animals and the people who love them.
Turning that idea into a viable business, however, is another challenge entirely.
Not far from Orlando’s famous theme parks, the Orange County Convention Center becomes a marketplace of ideas when the American Pet Products Association and Pet Distributors Association hosts Global Pet Expo from March 25-27, 2026.
Each year, the pet industry trade show draws a plethora of manufacturers in wellness, lifestyle, pet food, tech and “start-ups.”
While legacy brands command attention with sprawling displays, the show floor serves as a critical launching pad for a new generation of businesses. For many first-time exhibitors, the moment is pivotal. Months–sometimes years–of product development come down to a few days of conversations with retailers, distributors, and industry insiders who determine whether an idea remains a passion project or becomes a successful business.
New Companies worth Watching at Global Pet Expo.
Among the thousand of exhibitors gathering at this year’s show, several emerging companies are introducing products designed to address everyday challenges faced by sentient animals and their humans. These brands reflect the creativity, and entrepreneurial spirit the continues to shape the evolving pet marketplace.

Whether these emerging brands achieve a long shelf life or remain a single-season wonder has yet to be seen. But trade industry events like Global Pet Expo offer the first glimpse of products that may soon find their way into homes, dog parks, and virtual store shelves around the world.
