Since 1991, the Canadian Friends of Israel Guide Dog Center for the Blind was established to help blind citizens in Israel achieve independence and mobility through the use of guide dogs. Training costs for a guide dog are over $25,000.  Executive Director Sara Gabriel produces the annual fundraiser “Evening of Miracles.”  Ms Gabriel has managed the Canadian Friends of Israel Guide Dog Center for the Blind, for the last seven years. Since joining the organization, Sara has been able to send over $1,500,000 to Israel – equating to 60 Partnerships between a blind or visually impaired Israeli – regardless of race or religion – and a guide dog.
