Announcing… a full two days of interspecies interactivity!
Now in its second year, Pet Fun Fest & Adopt A Pet-a-thon is a one-of-kind public event at Downsview Park that will bring together animal lovers and pet welfare communities for a tail-wagging, illuminating experience. It’s a rewarding, bonding atmosphere where dogs and their humans directly participate in dog-centric activities.
All ages are invited to meet and learn about pets of all descriptions, from pocket pets to big best friends. The overriding objective: to spread awareness of the wonderful world of companion animals and to help homeless pets.
The kick-off “Best Friends” fundraiser, celebrating the milestone of having rescued 5,000 pets in need. The event is hosted by A Touch of Love® Inc., in support of Helping Homeless Pets Inc., Friday, February 11, 2011.
Spotlights
Attractions include: The high-flying actions of Ontario Dock Dogs ( a World Qualifier event). The Dock Dogs will present the Big Air Wave competition, accompanied by an Extreme Vertical & Speed Retrieve competition for both competitors & spectators to enjoy.
The Canine High Jump show: watch them soar over a horizontal bar.
Canine Free-style Dance show: watch pros in action and bust a move with your four-legged friend.
Parade of Rescues: Meet wonderful cats & dogs for adoption, including pure breeds. “Adopt a four-legged Torontonian today.”
Also featured:Vendors, fully-fenced off-leash area, guest speakers, education, pet rescues & pet safety seminars. PLUS–with an eye on the Guinness Book–there’ll be an attempt at a Canadian record for the largest simultaneous mass “Stay” with some 200 dogs.
Helping Homeless Pets (HPP) – Charitable Registration No. 849722954RR0001–was founded in December 2006 as a non-profit charitable company to support pet rescue groups across Canada. There are too many pets that need help and too few resources for overburdened volunteers.
