On Sunday, the Fairmont Royal York’s Imperial Ballroom played host to Woofstock’s Movie Star Doggie High Tea.  The who’s-who of social media’s online community of celebrity dogs were represented, along with their humans.   Crusoe, The Celebrity Dachshund  (with a million followers on Instagram & FaceBook combined) walked the carpet dressed as Snoop Dog.

Another popular doggie was IggyJoey – an Italian greyhound with more than 15,000 followers on Instagram – dressed as Cleopatra.  “She’s very much into fashion,’ ” says owner Lyndal Moody.

It was a veritable Hollywoof… with Princess, a Yorkshire terrier dressed as Grace Kelly, in gorgeous attire fit for a princess. The float was designed by her human, Donalee Clarke.

The host was Canadian actor and animal advocate Tre Smith, who shared the news that he’s been cast in a series pilot titled: Incorporated, from Matt Damon & Ben Affleck’s Pearl Street Productions.  The judges included blogger/author Ryan Beauchesne, CBC’s newest Dragon’s Den dragon Michele Romanow, country singer Danielle BourJeaurd and Buytopia VP Andy O’ Brien.

Four-legged guests were treated to trays of freshly-baked gourmet cookies and beef bouillon broth. A portion of the funds went to World Animal Protection (formerly known as the WSPA) “ Our annual Woofstock High Tea is a special highlight for launching our new season every year, “ says Teanna Lindsay, event manager for Woofstock.  The High Tea leads up to Woofstock’s two-day event September 26 & 27 at Woodbine Park in Toronto.
